This is a research group led by Dr. Safira Candra Asih, an assistant professor at Universitas Indonesia. Our research explores how microorganisms and biological systems can be harnessed to develop sustainable solutions across microbial biomanufacturing, microbial food, and bio-based sensing.

We integrate microbiology, fermentation engineering, and biotechnology to develop practical platforms for producing high-value bioproducts, sustainable food and functional ingredients, and biological sensing technologies. Our work emphasizes the use of microbial resources, fermentation processes, and renewable or underutilized resources to create innovative and sustainable biotechnological solutions.

By connecting fundamental microbiological research with bioprocess development and real-world applications, we aim to develop adaptable biological platforms that contribute to sustainable food systems, biomaterial and bioproduct production, and accessible diagnostic technologies.
